Amman, December 1 (Petra) – The Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud on Monday handed over a $90 million financial aid package to the Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Acting Minister of Finance, Istifan Salameh. The Money was delivered during a ceremony at the Saudi Embassy in Amman. The assistance forms part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing support for Palestine for the year 2025.
Prince Mansour said the aid reflects Saudi Arabia's leadership's commitment to supporting the Palestinian government and helping it meet its financial obligations.
He stressed the importance of the contribution in strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people, alleviating their economic and humanitarian hardships and supporting key sectors such as health and education.
He added that the aid is a continuation of Saudi Arabia's sustained economic, developmental, relief and humanitarian assistance to Palestine.
He reaffirmed the Kingdom's steadfast, historic commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent state.
He highlighted recent political efforts undertaken by Saudi Arabia, in partnership with France, as co-chairs of the high-level international conference in New York aimed at resolving the Palestinian issue and advancing implementation of the two-state solution efforts that have contributed to expanded international recognition of the State of Palestine.
For his part, Salameh expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's continued financial and political backing, noting the significance of the support amid the financial crisis facing the Palestinian Authority due to recent Israeli measures.
He expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia's longstanding, unwavering position toward the Palestinian cause and its support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
Salameh extended thanks to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for their continued political, economic and humanitarian support.
